I was wondering when the Yahoo! data center, soon to be opened in Lockport New York will be hiring employees?
The Buffalo, NY news (channel 7 news at 6pm) reported that a new Yahoo! data center will be opening its doors in May of 2010. I’m an information technology student at ITT Technical Institute in my second quarter and I am looking forward to applying for a position. I have been looking for an entry level position in an information technology career for one year now. I was wondering when those jobs will be open to apply? FYI, I will be in my second year at ITT studying Software Applications and Programming, which will lead to an associates degree.
I’d wait a bit. With the whole fiasco going on in Albany…where things like the discounted power program having expired (which was a big reason Yahoo picked NY), plus getting a first-hand glance at the disaster that is this area and this state…they might decide no way and turn around. Frankly any company worth their soul would hightail out of here. It sucks.
If I were you, wait, or apply at another of their facilities. I’m waiting for my husband’s company to come to its senses and leave so we can leave this h***hole.

I need advice for a new laptop and music producing software for home use?
Hello please be assertive here. I´m getting a new laptop with the idea of creating music in my home. I need to get the right laptop and the right software. I´m backed up when it comes to technology so I need great advice. My whole future depends on this. In the past I used to work with this program call Music Center Pro by data becker. is an old program that might no work with the new laptops so please give names of music producing software and what type of laptop is good.
I have been a professional audio engineer and never heard of this program you mention called Music Center. I would advise to use an actual profession DAW program such as Cubase or protools…………

I actually just bought a laptop after over 10 days of looking and found an a pretty cool deal. Theres a seller on Amazon called “Electronic Mind” that is selling some really powerful Acer Aspires way below retail value and has the lowest price on Amazon all together.
With this laptop you can do everything from recording vocal, and instruments and work with virtual instruments. At the price they are selling it here and for the power I would make this my first choice if I were you. You seem like a beginner so I would go out and spent $2000 plus on a laptop because you really dont need that. That kind of stuff is for big studios. This is your best bet but these kinds of deals come and go all the time. Sometimes harder to find then other.

I dont know how they can sell them so cheap but I have had mine now for 2 weeks and I am very happy with my brand new laptop.
With Acer Aspire you cant go wrong.The laptop is wicked, I am running very strenuous programs on it such as music production software and hardcore games and it can take anything I throw at it
